Behind The Vision: (Creative Direction Edition) ft. SNIF
As a brand designer, writer and creative entrepreneur, when it comes to creative direction—the power of storytelling must be in the midst.
The beauty and art of the vision must be displayed throughout every part of the project or story that you’re telling whether it’s for yourself, a brand or a community.
The strategy behind sharing the message or mission in a way that’s both artistically compelling and emotively driven.
Not only does the visuals or aesthetics must be carefully thought out in detail but also in the written and vocal dialogue and brand storytelling.
What comes to mind when you think of a brand or story to tell? What’s the emotion that you’re looking to capture? What’s the vibe that you want others to feel? What’s the visual aesthetic that fits the mood and depth of the story and brand?
There’s so much intention and purpose that goes into the process of creative direction that must be orchestrated in a way that’s authentic and aligned.
Let’s take the Me by SNIF fragrance campaign that I created as a passion project and all of the details that were in motion to bring the vision to life.
The first part is honing in on the visual aspect. The beauty and art of humanistic storytelling is in what our eyes can see before anything else.
01. The Moodboard & Visual Aesthetic:
The visual keywords that come to mind are bold, fun, fresh, bright, natural and editorial. I sought after inspiring and creative visuals from Pinterest to shape the narrative of the story through imagery.
02. Capturing The Emotion Through Storytelling
It was important to capture the feeling of comfort, familiarity, calmness and humanistic in an artistic and editorial style approach through the telescope of written dialogue and imagery in every aspect.

The Copywriting & Messaging:

03. The Art of Photography
When it comes to the photography—the emotive way of embodying the essence of Me by SNIF were all in the details of imagery composition, model posing, prop styling, visual execution and written storytelling that truly brings the artistic vision to life.
The imagery’s vibe and aesthetic is effortless, editorial, natural, earthy, fine art.
04. Intentionally Sharing The Creative Vision
It’s all in the strategy of how you want to share the creative vision. For this passion project, I chose to share it on social media (Instagram, TikTok) and think it would be a great way to share more details here on Substack as well as there will be a visual on YouTube showcasing the project in full too.
Everything must be done with intention knowing that creatively there’s a purpose for every part of the process and story.
It’s not always going to be easy however with time, patience, dedication and support. You too can curate a vision and all of its details from beginning to end successfully, beautifully and emotively all at the same time.
Because your stories, your art, your creativity, your ideas must be told in a way that people and the world can see, embrace and experience altogether.
