Art Is Not Subjective
When it comes to creativity, I like to think of it as a mirage of artistic expressions and mediums coming together.
As a multi-passionate creative person, there was always a space inside of me that wondered how to balance the different facets and mediums of art that I loved.
Growing up, I could recall loving every form of art; painting, drawing, writing, reading to the point to where I couldn’t really choose a side more than the other. And that is the exact reason as to why creativity comes in many forms and why art is not subjective.
Art is a way of life and a voice of inspiration when language can’t speak for itself. Art is an expressive form of communication that’s often seen but more so felt within one’s heart and spirit. Art is a feeling of freedom, emotion and passion that lies in the inner beings of who we are.
It’s in the mentality and perspective of creativity that we find a sense of belonging, purpose and community. It’s in the musings of art where we find what truly matters most. It’s in the conscious thoughts of our minds, the echoed words written upon our hearts and the connection of our spirits that bring us together as people.
The beauty of art can’t be contained to one way of being because as humans—we aren’t just one kind. We are ever-growing, ever-changing, ever-evolving into a new chapter of life, of the world, of ourselves and others. We are continuously navigating this world differently each and every day. All of us cannot be the same and that’s okay.
And that is why art speaks such volumes of complexity, details and depth. That is why the heart drives on passion and purpose. That is why the spirit thrives on authentic connections and open minds.
That is why art is a language of creative worlds that isn’t only seen, heard or experienced but also felt with every fiber of our being.
It has the power to shape us, change us, help us, give us hope, share love, build community and inspire even when we sometimes cannot or find it difficult to do the same.
That is why art is a home that grows on a solid and strong foundation. That is why we see art in everything, everywhere and in everyone. That is why art will never lose its significance and value in this world.
That is why we must continue creating art as beautifully, as honestly, as authentically, as humanly as possible.
Because you just never know the impact of your art, story and perspective can have in someone’s life. It can be far greater than you’d ever imagine and I mean that in the best way possible.
Signed,
A creative of many forms with a passion for art.
